Senior Category Manager

Salary on appointment will be £48,149 per annum, with an annual increment up to £55,755 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Category Manager to join the Procurement Service in the Finance and Planning Division. This senior role will work to deliver a business partnering approach, cashable and cost avoidance savings in support of the delivery of the university's Strategy 2030 as a subject matter commercial expert in public sector procurement. This opportunity is available to senior procurement professionals or those seeking the next step on their career who can demonstrate the relevant essential criteria
You will have a direct responsibility for strategic and complex procurement categories, working alongside the Deputy Director of Finance and Associate Director of Procurement to build and maintain the reputation of the Procurement service as a highly professional and strategic support service for the University and its partners.
You will have a demonstrable track record of continuous improvement and delivery of results in a variety of procurement settings within a complex organisation, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally to the University. Procurement experience in the Public Sector, Higher Education or a similarly regulated environment is essential, and experience in Estates, Construction or IT and Digital Procurement categories would be advantageous.
This full-time post is available from 4 August 2025 on an indefinite basis.
